Our cutting edge technology

  • Our fixed wireless equipment operates in the 60GHz spectrum - opened up by the FCC in 2018, 60GHz is capable up pushing speeds previously considered unfathomable in the fixed wireless world. We are able to deliver a symmetrical GIGABIT to the home. Meaning, 1Gbps down and 1Gbps up at the same time. This is technically a 2Gbps connection, because it is capable of pushing 2Gbps bi-directional. That is FAST.

  • Our hardware has a MAIN connection, and an always on, hot standby BACKUP connection, just for the sake of extreme redundancy. Our customers essentially have two redundant connections that operate in tandem. If one connection fails for whatever reason, the other picks up the slack. This not only helps with general reliability, but also helps keep the internet up and active in all weather conditions. This technology has made our fixed wireless platform just as reliable as a cable connection in pretty much every way - except you don’t have a main and backup failover with a cable connection!

  • Latency is the speed in which a packet of information leaves your device, heads out to the internet, finds it’s destination, and makes it back to your device. Having LOW latency is EXTREMELY important for real-time activities, like:

    • Working from home

    • Video meetings (Zoom, Teams, ect)

    • VoIP phone calls

    • Online gaming

    • Connecting to remote servers

Our latency is generally sub 10ms - as in, 10 milliseconds. It’s rare to get latency that low on a fiber network, let alone a fixed wireless one. This is the most ideal service to work from home and game on.

  • If you are a Wasatch Broadband customer and you use one of multiple of the following:

    • Netflix

    • Hulu

    • Disney +

    • ESPN

    • Paramount +

You’re in luck! Wasatch Broadband is connected directly to the SLIX (Salt Lake Internet Exchange) at our core. All of these streaming services have an immediate and active presence on the SLIX. so response times from streaming services are VERY fast.
